Did anyone manage to get a recording of this programme? I missed it due to a malfunction of my recorder! I urgently need a copy for a dear friend who was a close friend of Jennifer's (Norma Procter with whom she sang and recorded many times) and would be so grateful for any help or advice how I can obtain a copy. Thanks for any help you can give.

I have spent a fascinating couple of hours reading the commentaries and archive material on the main website devoted to Jennifer Vyvyan. As a long-standing admirer of her work, it is very good to see so much of her career comprehensively documented.

I was very lucky to be present at two of her splendid later performances: as Lady Rich at the Proms in 1973, and in the War Requiem at the Fairfield Halls in 1974, and I remember them both vividly. In neither did she give any hint of illness, and it was a big shock when she died so soon afterwards.

I hope this won't be the end of this blog, having discovered it so late!

Just saw MND at the ENO. Thisbe is a parody of Donizetti, got that. Pyramus is surely Verdi pastiche. Or is it Rossini? Or no one? Can't find reference to it anywhere. Thanks

Hi
Just came from the dress rehearsal for D of Faust. All I can say is that I hope this will be the first of many operas for Terry Gilliam. It was absolutely amazing. I can't imagine I'll ever forget it!

Hi Michael,

We are embarking on a mission to improve the profile of Tim Knight in the UK, and I am hoping to forge a relationship with you to assist with this.

Tim's catalogue is huge, many of the pieces being unreviewed at present. There are also some recorded pieces, plus he has written a couple of books. In addition he also runs various choirs and also has a sideline of very successful workshops.

We are hoping to increase sales of his printed music, plus generate increased numbers of compositions.

If you would be interested in any content / assisting in any way, please let me know.

Tim is quite successful in America, and it seems a shame to not match that success on his home turf, so we're on a mission!

I look forward to hearing from you.

Kindest Regards,

Faye Parker

I’d be inclined to acquiesce with you on this. Which is not something I typically do! I really like reading a post that will make people think. Also, thanks for allowing me to comment!
